We’re thrilled to welcome new residents to our town! Moving somewhere new can be challenging, and it takes time to adjust. That’s why we hold orientation sessions throughout the year to help you explore all that our town has to offer. Whether it’s shopping centres, job centres, the university, bus/train services, or fun activities – we’ve got you covered! These sessions are held at various times throughout the year with a special focus on October when many new residents arrive in town.

The orientation sessions provide a safe space to help answer some burning questions that new residents may have. We share our experiences across areas such as studying in Loughborough (for students), working in Loughborough (for career professionals), parenting (for families) and more. For international students, transitioning into studying and living in the UK can be quite daunting, and as such we leverage the experience and support network of people in the community who may have gone through similar struggles to help ease the transition.

Loughborough boasts excellent transport links. Local buses reach Leicester city centre in around 30 minutes (10 minutes by rail). Nottingham and Derby are approximately 30-40 minutes away by road or rail. Additionally, frequent trains allow travel to London in under 90 minutes. This convenient location provides easy access to numerous cities while residing in a dynamic town.
