At the heart of Cornerstone Community Kitchen are the incredible volunteers who make everything possible. For the past three years, they have shown up week after week—cooking, serving, smiling, and sharing love with everyone who walks through our doors.
As we reflect on our 3rd anniversary, we want to shine a light on their voices, their reasons, and their heart for service.
“I just wanted to give back.” – Rhoda, Volunteer
When Sarah first joined as a volunteer, she didn’t know how big of an impact she would make. “I came in thinking I would just help serve meals,” she says, “but I quickly realized it was so much more than food. It’s about listening, encouraging, and letting people know they matter.”
“It’s a family here.” – Moses, Volunteer
For James, Cornerstone isn’t just a place to give—it’s a place to belong. “From the moment I started volunteering, I felt part of something bigger. We laugh, we work hard, and we celebrate together. It feels like family.”
“You receive more than you give.” – Esther, Volunteer
Aisha helps with our outreach programs and says the experience has changed her perspective. “When you give your time, you think you’re the one helping. But honestly, I feel I receive so much in return—joy, gratitude, and a new appreciation for community.”

The Power of Volunteering
Each story reminds us that volunteering is not just about what you do—it’s about who you become. Our volunteers have discovered the power of compassion, the strength of community, and the joy that comes from serving others.
An Invitation
As we look to the future, we want to invite more people to join this journey. Whether you can give an hour a week or a day a month, your presence matters. Like our volunteers, you’ll find that service has a way of transforming lives—including your own.
đź’› To every volunteer who has given their time, energy, and heart over the past three years: thank you. You are the heartbeat of Cornerstone Community Kitchen.
